Stalker 2 map glitch – how to take advantage before it gets patched out

So, we fancy a bit of cheating in Stalker 2 eh? Can’t be bothered with traversing its radiation-soaked landscape properly and want to zip around like some kind of nuclear Batman do you?

Well, believe it or not, there is a bug (I know right?) that will speed up your journeys exponentially as you play.

We already discussed how largely pointless or perfect, depending on your train of thought, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s Fast Travel system is, but if you are in the camp that wants a decent FT system, you are out of luck here. So how can you speed things up? Let’s check in on this glitch.

Stalker 2 map anomaly glitch

Firstly, just to point out again this is a bug, so it will get patched out at some point. When that point will be, who knows, it could be days, it could be years.

The issue is with the Vortexes that spawn around the Exclusion Zone which aren’t overly dangerous, but with a bit of dexterity, one Reddit user found that they can propel you across the game’s map at super speeds.

Overweight and need to get to the nearest settlement? Not a problem

The video on Reddit above shows the glitch in action but you basically have to time throwing a bolt into the anomaly and rush into it at the same time and you will, for no good reason be propelled across the map in the direction you were facing when you entered the vortex.

There is also no damage meted out when you land so that’s also a bonus. In practice, you may find it too much of a hassle to use, but if you want to wing it across the map in double-quick time and can find a handle vortex, you will speed up your travel time by some considerable factor.
