Internet of Things Is Now “In Sync With Real Life” #IoT #Tizen

Last week, Dr. Hong, the President of Samsung SDS and the Head of its solution business, delivered a keynote at CES 2016 that focused on the Internet of Things (IoT) and how this can impact on our lives today and in the future.
Samsung has an ever expanding range of devices and appliances that can Interact with the SmartThings ecosystem, like the new range of 2016 Samsung TVs which can actually act as the IoT Hub of your house. We have a Family Hub refrigerator, that has a large 21.5-inch LED display built in, which you can use it to order your groceries, check your family calendar, play media (pictures, audio, video) and more.
Samsung’s IoT strategy is based on three key principles: “openness, interoperability, and cross-industry collaboration, and the of success of IoT would lie in Samsung adhering to them.
IoT devices, by their very nature, need to connect to the outside world and in order to make this appealing Samsung is working with its industry partners in the Open Interconnect Consortium, to build a truly open connectivity framework called IoTivity. Companies can also access Samsung Smart Home Cloud API, which makes it possible to integrate any IoT-ready Samsung household appliance into any IoT ecosystem.

“Unlocking the value of the IoT is an amazing opportunity for all of us: as consumers, as businesses and as society,” said Dr. Hong. “When we all work together, IoT can be in sync with real life.”
