Samsung Introduces World’s First Tizen-Powered Premium Signage Displays

Not satisfied with developing high-quality displays for smartphones, wearables and smart TVs, Samsung has introduced its latest Tizen-powered gadget and it is Smart Signage. The Korean tech giant today announced the launch of its P-series standalone Smart signage made up of PHF and PMF, both with premium displays . The uniqueness of the signage goes further with details of the device running on the Tizen operating system.
The Tizen OS comes in as an open-source platform with versatile strength both in performance and usability and the signages combine that with an upgraded fourth generation Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP 4.0) to deliver seamless performance alongside faster display and more flexible content management tools. The P-Series displays include the PHF with 700nit brightness and PMF with 500nit brightness.
The PHF features a slim design of just 29.9 mm thick and with narrow 6.9 mm bezels and it comes in three display sizes; 43 inches, 49 inches, and 55 inches, while the PMF also has the same size but comes in four display sizes namely 32 inches, 43 inches, 49 inches and 55 inches. Both models are the first in Samsung’s line-up that would be outputting content using the Samsung Smart Signage Platform 4.0 with reinforced graphics engine bringing in animation performance three times better than that of previous SSSP versions.

As a result of the open-source nature of the Tizen OS, the new signage displays comes with the advantages of a cross-architecture, open source platform, easier web app development with an upgraded Tizen Emulator and new Remote Debugging Tool. The Signages also comes with enhanced response times and seamless playback. Even when delivering content to any audience in real-time, P-Series users get expanded options to deliver clear content, with smooth display transition between several formats without the screen going blank or getting interrupted.

Furthermore, the P-Seres displays come with designs meant to operate continuously uninterrupted in any location, thus removing maintenance burden from users. In addition, both the PHF and PMF models are IP5X certified, meaning they can operate at optimum quality in a wide range of extreme environmental conditions like dust and dirt. They can thus be used in subway stations and bus terminals.
Another cool thing about the all new Samsung P-Series signage is that it is an all-in-one device, so you really don’t need external PCs or other input devices to use it. The device features a new MagicInfo Server 4.0 which can be used to manage the entire signage portfolio through a central remote server in real time and also make adjustments across individual displays or display groups from any location.

In addition, Samsung’s P-Series displays also contain an integrated centralized infrared receiver (IR) to drive more convenient operation. Although hidden from view, the centralized IR is compatible with remote control devices and drives faster and easier navigation than most standard displays, which makes the IR component very useful when the display is placed in harder-to-operate corner locations.
Already, several prominent companies having recognized the importance of this flexible signage technology are starting to migrate to the SSSP 4.0 platform. One of the early birds is Signagelive, a global cloud-based digital signage technology platform provider which recently migrated its media player software to SSSP 4.0. The implementation makes Signagelive’s platform fully compatible with Samsung’s SMART Signage line-up, and accelerates customer deployment.
