Samsung Galaxy Watch in Australia

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch is available in its entire range in Australia. Both Bluetooth and Cellular models of 42mm and 46mm sized Galaxy Watches are available in all of their colour variants. Price starts at $499 for the 42mm Bluetooth model and goes all the way up to $649 for the 4G-enabled 46mm Galaxy Watch. The 46mm Bluetooth model costs $549 whereas the 42mm LTE model costs $549.
Samsung Australia has already opened up pre-orders for the watch on its official website. The company will begin shipping the device on October 3 with FREE standard shipping Australia wide.

JB Hifi pre-order $50 discount on Galaxy Watch

JB Hifi, meanwhile, charges an extra $4.95 shipping charge. However, it is offering an additional pre-order bonus of $50 for orders placed until October 3. So effectively, you’ll get your favourite Galaxy Watch for $45 less at JB Hifi than at Samsung’s official website. Online purchasers will receive their $50 gift card via email 2 weeks from release date. In-store purchases will receive a coupon at time of purchase.

JB Hifi will begin shipping the device on October 4, and promises a price guarantee, which means if the price drops before the release date, you will be charged the lowest price.

Avoid any Galaxy Watch LTE / 4G pitfalls

People looking to buy the 4G-enabled Galaxy Watch must note that the cellular service is currently available only on selected plans over the Telstra network. So make sure to cross-check your plan before you make the purchase. Furthermore, cellular connectivity is not compatible with iOS devices. So you must own an Android smartphone running Android 5.0 or later in order to have 4G on your watch. It may also be noted that Samsung Pay will not work on a Galaxy Watch paired with an iPhone.
For those who are not on Telstra network, Samsung expects to find more partners, but that don’t seem to happen anytime soon.
