Samsung Galaxy Fit/Fit-e: Price, specifications and availability

Samsung‘s next generation of fitness trackers, the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit-e, are nearing their market launch. In fact, the latter is already available in some markets, such as the Netherlands, though the company itself hasn’t listed the device on its website yet. However, both the devices are now up for pre-orders in Portugal, revealing their pricing and specifications.

Samsung Galaxy Fit/Fit-e price and specifications

Samsung’s new Galaxy Fit trackers don’t look too much different, but they do offer some key differences in specs underneath. The Galaxy Fit features a 0.95-inch full color AMOLED screen and packs a 120 mAh battery, which will last for up to 7 days of autonomous use. Under the hood is a Cortex M33F SoC, paired with 2MB RAM and 32MB of storage.

The Galaxy Fit-e, meanwhile, sports a smaller 0.74-inch monochrome PMOLED display. It also gets a smaller 70 mAh battery. However, the device runs for a longer 10 days on a single charge, thanks to those display limitations. The Galaxy Fit-e is powered by a Cortex M0 processor with just 128KB of RAM and 4MB of storage.

Both the devices run on Samsung’s new Realtime OS. These MIL-STD-810G military grade fitness trackers from Samsung are water-resistant up to 5 ATM, and offer Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. The Galaxy Fit weighs 23 grams, whereas the Galaxy Fit-e is much lighter at 15 grams.

In terms of features, both the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit-e are almost equally capable. You get automatic motion detection as well as sleep, stress, and heart-rate tracking in both the devices. However, the Galaxy Fit comes with notification interactions, whereas the Galaxy Fit-e only supports incoming notifications without the option to respond.

As for pricing, the Galaxy Fit costs €99.90 (~$111), while the Galaxy Fit-e will set you back by€39.90 ($45). The former is available in Black and Silver color options, whereas the latter comes in more color choices, namely White, Black, and Yellow. The two fitness trackers should go on sale in more markets in the coming days.
