Samsung has now announced that their blood pressure and ECG tracking features on the Galaxy Watch 3 and the Galaxy Watch Active2 is now going to 31 more countries. These were before limited to only South Korea – the home country of the tech giant. Back in December 2020, the Samsung Health Monitor app was granted a CE-marking. This enables the service to expand to 28 European countries. The marking is a sign that confirms the product is compliant with the safety, health and environmental regulations they have in the EU.
The European Countries the Samsung Feature is Going to
These European countries include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
As well as this, the app is going to be launching in Chile, Indonesia and the UAE.
How do the Samsung smartwatches monitor blood pressure?
The smartwatches measure blood pressure through pulse wave analysis. This is tracked with the Heart Rate Monitoring sensors. The ECG feature, however, analyses the heart’s electrical activity through a sensor.
In order to have the Samsung Health Monitor app, it must be installed on both the phone and smartwatch. When the firmware of the Galaxy Wearable app is updated, the features are automatically installed on the smartwatch.
The company says that the Samsung Health Monitor app will be coming out to users in these 31 new markets starting February 4.
