News is reaching us of the new Pokémon GO Season: Dual Destiny set to land next week, but what has made it to the public domain so far? Here’s everything we know right now.
Pokémon GO Dual Destiny is running from 10 am local time on December 3rd until March 4th, 2025. Last season, Pokémon GO Max Out introduced the new Dynamax feature, Power Spots, and powerful new Max moves for your big ‘mons. Whilst not much is known about the next season, the Pokémon GO team just dropped a teaser trailer hinting at what’s to come this season. Here’s everything we know so far about Pokémon GO Dual Destiny:
A new Season is approaching in #PokemonGO! 🤩

Based on the snowy scenes showed in the trailer, plus the updated black and white Android for the app, we can guess that there will be a Tour event in the Unova region. This means players will be able to finally get their hands on the Legendary Kyurem Pokémon. Around this time last year, players were accidentally able to encounter Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in the game, much to players’ excitement. These Pokémon were quickly removed from all accounts, so players will no doubt be looking forward to finally being able to own their own Dragon/Ice Legendary from the Tao Trio. The exact date for the Tour event hasn’t been confirmed, but they are typically held in February.
The trailer also hinted at the return of the Gen 6 mythical Pokémon Hoopa by using gold hoops as transition effects (no, it’s probably not a Pokémon x Sonic crossover!). This Pokémon has been out of action for quite some time: Hoopa Confined was last seen in Pokémon GO back in September 2021 through Special Raids, whilst its Unbound counterpart was last seen in Elite Raids in 2021 too. OG Pokémon fans will remember Hoopa Confined from “Hoopa’s Surprise Ring Adventures”, “Hoopa – The Mischief Pokémon” and “Hoopa and the Clash of Ages”. In the latter, Hoopa Confined transformed into Hoopa Unbound. Both Pokémon should make an appearance this season and will be available as shiny versions too.
Thank you, Trainers!
Together, your courage was far bigger than any Gigantamax Pokémon.
Don’t disband just yet though!

After the final live event of the season – Pokémon Go Wild Area 2024 – the Pokémon team hinted at even more Gigantamax Battles in the near future. A video posted by the Pokémon GO team suggests that the next Gigantamax Pokémon to come to the game will be Gigantamax Orbeetle. Start getting your team ready for that one!
