Musical game scores can be memorable pieces of art in themselves. Soundtracks are often given away with games as a pre-order gift or available for separate purchase on Steam and people will gladly listen to them like the soundtracks of epic movies
Personally speaking, my first experience with a soundtrack that really caught my imagination was the soundtrack CD for the original Ecco the Dolphin on on the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive. Since then the haunting Minecraft soundtrack and orchestra space sweeps of Elite Dangerous regularly blast through my Airpods.
Taking the music of video games on the road in concert form is not a new thing. Tommy Tallarico of gaming soundtracks such as Earthworm Jim has toured his Video Games Live show around the globe to packed out audiences for years.
Now though, PlayStation has announced The Concert – a global event featuring the music from God of War, The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, and Horizon that will be coming to concert arenas near you from next April, taking in 200 cities along the way.
The 2025 tour schedule so far includes: Dublin, Ireland – Glasgow, Scotland, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, UK – Amsterdam, Netherlands – Paris, Amnéville, France – Antwerp, Brussels, Belgium – Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Berlin, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Leipzig, Munich, Oberhausen, Germany – Zurich, Switzerland – Bologna, Italy – Budapest, Hungary – Sofia, Bulgaria – Vienna, Austria – Bratislava, Slovakia – Prague, Czech Republic – Lodz, Poland – Copenhagen, Denmark – Gothenburg, Sweden – Oslo, Norway
Only the European venues have been announced in this batch with the rest of the globe to follow soon.
The official release states that, “PlayStation: The Concert is poised to redefine what a music experience can be.” So it’s safe to say we can expect something big here.
Tickets for this spectacularly unique event are sure to be in demand even though there are some pretty large venues in that list above, including Manchester’s new Co-Op Live Super Arena. As a deal for PlayStation fans and gamers alike, you can use the code PLAYCONCERT24 from 7 am PT tomorrow (16th October) to get early access.
You can also check out information on the shows on the official website.
