Great news for Amazon Fire TV users. The official YouTube App is back on Amazon Fire TV. It’s been well over a year since Google pulled the app from Amazon devices. This is because of a small feud that started in late 2015 when Amazon stopped selling Google’s Chromecast devices and then obviously, Google pulled YouTube from Amazon’s platforms. The YouTube App will be available to the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV Stick Basic Edition, along with Toshiba, Insignia, Element, and Westinghouse Fire TV Edition smart TVs.
Amazon says that their devices will get the YouTube app “in the coming months,” so, just maybe you’ll be able to get that very nice Christmas present early. According to Amazon, more of it’s devices will receiving the YouTube App as well as YouTube Kids and also the streaming Live YouTube TV. This is all slotted to happen in the second part of this year.
More good news is that the Amazon Android Prime App (on Android and iOS platforms) will get Chromecast support. So you’ll be able to stream whatever is playing from your app to, for example, your TV screen. Owners of Amazon Echo Show devices will unfortunately get no YouTube support, at the moment, for some unknown reason. When Google and amazon announced the deal earlier this year, the list of devices that would get support from YouTube, did not include the Amazon Echo Show
As well as all of this big news, the Prime Video app was once available on a few platforms but now it will have a much larger rollout so more and more people can use their services. And give them money..
