As part of the Information released on the Tizen Samsung Gear S Smartwatch, HERE Maps was listed as a navigation tool, providing turn-by-turn directions to pedestrians. Nokia have also announced that they will be launching a Nokia HERE Maps service that supports the Tizen Samsung Gear S.
This is a robust mapping solution and we were over the moon when we originally heard that Nokia HERE Maps was the mapping solution of choice for Tizen back in October 2013, which can be Integrated into the Tizen SDK via a simple plugin. We will presume a newer plugin that supports the Gear S will be available soon.
We also got a glimpse of what the services provided by the Nokia HERE Maps solution looked like at Mobile World Congress 2014. Now according to the HERE Twitter account, more information will be released at 10 am London time or at 4 pm EDT on the 29th August.
