Moza Racing releases a PC only version of its R3 Racing bundle, cuts the price, and offers a low-cost entry into sim-racing

Earlier in the year we looked at Moza Racing’s R3 bundle which included a steering wheel, base, and pedals and served as a great entry-level jumping-off point into the expensive world of sim racing.

The thing that made the R3 bundle unique was that the wheel could be used on both PC and Xbox, meaning console owners had a great opportunity to get some higher-end racing gear clamped to the coffee table for games such as Forza.

Now though, Moza has just announced a cheaper version of the R3 bundle without the Xbox compatibility. Removing the console connections has lowered the price to a pretty astonishing $299 for some very good gear to get you started.

Sure the R3 wheelbase does not pack the power of the more expensive offerings, but if you are itching to see if the hobby is for you and don’t want to splurge crazy money, only to be selling on eBay a few months later, the R3 Bundle is nigh on the perfect way to try it out.

With the R3 base having the Moza Quick Release system too it is also compatible should you want to upgrade the wheel itself further down the line, or if you want to keep the wheel and not go all out with something like a Vision GS wheel, you could keep the wheel you have and just upgrade the base. The options for all of these are there.

You can pick up the new PC R3 bundle at Moza’s site, which has also just launched a Christmas sale offering reductions on a whole host of its other race gear if you are looking to upgrade your existing set-up too.

The sale features cuts on 17 discounted items, including:

• Direct Drive wheelbases for different power levels
• Steering wheels for formula racing, GT, drifting, trucking, and more
• Accessories to enhance your sim racing setup
