Meta AI has been expanded to the Middle East and North Africa, opening up the service to millions of users.

The offering from the parent company of Facebook and Instagram will now be available in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Yemen.

Arabic functionality will be added and enhanced moving forward, which will be vital for the MENA market.

Meta AI does not require any subscriptions or sign-ups to access. Users just need to engage with it, whenever required, to utilize its features.

By tagging @meta on Instagram, WhatsApp, or Messenger, a virtual assistant is beckoned to assist with your queries.

From recommending a restaurant to where to visit on holiday or putting together a playlist for a long journey, Meta AI can help.

The company has said various features will be available in the Middle East and North Africa, including “Imagine Me”, a tool for expression that creates personalized selfies, and audio dubbing to improve your Instagram reels.

Further support for personal and professional use

The launch for the Arabic market has been introduced with the theme of ‘Elevating Every Moment’ with Meta collaborating with prominent regional creators.

Yara Boumonsef, Amro Maskoun, Raghad Zamel, Faisal Al Saif and Abdullah Al Sabe have all pitched in to demonstrate what is possible with the AI tech and to entice users to get involved.

There will also be official information posted to the Meta Arabia page to act as a guide for users to make the most of the AI tools, for personal and professional use.

The tech giant has said the rollout into MENA means that Meta AI is now available in 42 countries, covering 13 languages, for more than 700 million users across its Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp services.
