Marvel Rivals: Everything we know about the upcoming Winter Celebration event

Marvel Rivals, the latest PvP third-person shooter, is getting its first limited-time event: The Winter Celebration. It’s a holiday-themed event that brings new game modes, character costumes, and a few extra surprises. It launches on the 19th of December 11 pm PST and has no confirmed end date as of yet but we can likely expect it to run through the holiday period. They’ve just dropped a trailer for the event too, detailing all the main features launching. Here’s everything we know about the event so far:

Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival

The event focuses mostly on the limited-time event Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival, which is a 4v4 game mode where everyone plays as Jeff the shark. The game mode basically plays a bit like Splatoon, where players try to cover the map in their team’s paint color as much as they can within the time limit. There’s still a whole load of fighting involved, as you’ll want to take out the opponents to slow them down.

New Winter Celebration Skins

The event introduces five new holiday and winter-themed skins or “costumes” for Groot, Rocket, Venom, Jeff, and Magik. Jeff’s skin will be free for everyone but the other skins will only be available if purchased via the shop. Groot and Venom get the most creative skins, with Groot looking like a lit-up Christmas tree and Venom looking like he’s made of ice. The other characters are given ski apparel, which are a bit less interesting in comparison.

The trailer also hints at a few extra “special gifts” so keep an eye out for extra surprise drops coming with this limited-time event. Complete with special new game modes, skins, and a “few surprises”, the Winter Celebrations event brings all the festivity to Marvel Rivals.
