Like most Lego games that have come before it, Lego Horizon Adventure is at once a single-player game, but oodles more fun as a two-player jaunt. Sure you could say that about most games, but the mechanics of these games often have you swapping between characters to utilize their gadgets or weapons. Having a friend along for the ride just helps out.
As with other games in the series, if you and your gaming partner spread yourselves too far apart will whizz you back closer together. There is no split screen here so you have to work together from the off.
How many players is Lego Horizon Adventures?
You can play the game with just a single friend, of course, you could pass the controller around easily enough so everybody can control a different character but that would mean a fair bit of sitting around in between actions. So it’s best to stick to either one or two players.
How to play local co-op in Horizon Adventures
This is easy, just make sure you have a second controller connected and turn it on. Hit a button and you will be controlling a new character within seconds.
How to play online co-op in Horizon Adventures
PC players have the easy way right here as playing online does not require a membership. If you are on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation, you will need the appropriate account with either Switch Online or PlayStation Plus.
Now, when you hit Pause in a game you will get the opportunity to Invite Friend to Co-Op Play. Find the friend you want to add to your game and select them and, once they accept the invite they should immediately join you in the game.
Does Lego Horizon Adventures have crossplay?
This is also slightly annoying in this day and age, Lego Horizon Adventure has no crossplay, meaning the only friends you can play with are the ones that are playing on the same hardware are you. Sorry.
