Unity Tizen Beta
The Unity for Tizen Beta program has been updated to work with the recently released Tizen 2.3 SDK and Unity 5.0 and is open to developers to join. Developers can test their Unity games and report bugs in the bug reporter, join the google forum group to discuss and ask questions about new beta features.
Registered beta users will be provided with a trial license that will unlock the Tizen functionality in the Unity game development environment. Samsung has recently announced support for the Unity Game Engine in its Tizen TVs.
Porting Notes
- You may only export to devices. The Tizen Emulator is not supported.
- At this time only the Samsung Z1 device is supported. This is subject to change in the future when new hardware becomes available.
- A good rule of thumb to follow when porting to Tizen is to use Android as a guideline. The Z1 has similar performance to a Galaxy S2. Adding UNITY_TIZEN to cases where UNITY_ANDROID is specified will generally provide the behavior that you are looking for.
- The latest downloadable build is 5.0 RC3 Tizen beta 5 dated 2015-2-20.
