Is Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred on Game Pass?

Microsoft and Activision Blizzard are an item and we already have Diablo IV on the Game Pass subscription service. Now though, some 16 months after the release of the original base game Blizzard has unleashed the first Diablo IV expansion – Vessel of Hatred, bringing with it a new class, the Spiritborn, a new area to explore, and a host of new enemies.

It’s also brought with it a new hefty price tag, so can your existing Game Pass monthly subscription cover the cost, or are you going to need to get your wallet out to go adventuring in the newer areas of Sanctuary? Let’s have a look.

Is Vessel of Hatred on Game Pass?

Sad news cash-saving fans, Vessel of Hatred is not part of your Game Pass subscription, even though the base game has made it’s way there eventually. We have seen this recently with Starfield, a Day One Game Pass exclusive but the recent Shattered Space expansion is not a part of the same deal.

Can you play Vessel of Hatred with the Game Pass version of Diablo?

You can indeed which is at least some good news if you haven’t dipped into the D4 universe just yet. You can simply purchase Vessel of Hatred and play from there. As when we explained this with Starfield however if Blizzard and Microsoft ever break up, or, more likely you ever let your Game Pass subscription lapse, you will be left with an expansion and no owned copy of the vase game to play it with. Just something to bear in mind if you intend to play it this way.

Will Vessel of Hatred ever come to Game Pass?

Potentially but unlikely we would say. Adding game expansions is not something that is common to Game Pass. The best you will probably get here is the 10% off the full purchase price you get for being a Game Pass subscriber.

If you haven’t tried Diablo IV yet – and you should – Game Pass remains the cheapest way to jump in, it’s just not the be-all and end-all if you manage to get obsessed with the game.
