Samsung and Moscow University of Technology (Technical University) recently reached an agreement to set up an Internet of Things (IoT) academy called “Samsung IoT Academy” which will be launched in September 2017. The basis of this agreement is to train professionals in the consistently growing field of information technology.
Many top cadre staff of the institute witnessed the signing of the agreement. The Rector of the Institute, Stanislav Alekseevich Kudzh and the Director of the Institute of IT, Andrey Sergeevich Zuev are some notable names amongst others. Samsung was represented by Sergey Pevnev (Director of theDepartmentt of corporate projects and interaction with the public authorities), Svetlana Yun (Representative of the research center of Samsung) and Tatiana Volkova (Manager of educational programs).
Samsung is expanding its activities to the educational sector using the Samsung IoT Academy which will complement the already existing “Samsung IT SCHOOL“. This program is designed based on real cases for the implementation IoT and it will be an annual training course for students. This is an ample opportunity for practical studies in the new and trending field of information technology as students will be encouraged to design their own prototype devices.
All the high-tech devices, laboratory equipment, and teaching/learning aids will be provided by Samsung Research Center. Samsung will train the trainers and provide the methods of running the course. This program will be climaxed by a competition of projects designed by students.

He added “Our new project “Samsung IoT Academy” is aimed at training qualified personnel, which should be able to solve complex tasks and high-tech Internet of Things. “Samsung IoT Academy ” complements another program of our company in the field of education – “Samsung IT SCHOOL”, which for several years, operates in more than 20 regions of the country. “

Moscow Technological University – the largest technical university of the Russian Federation, is an excellent platform for the introduction of new technologies” – said Stanislav Alekseevich Kudzh, Rector of the Institution. He added “We are pleased that Samsung Electronics has come to us with this initiative, and together we want to move the process of implementation and development of information technology to new heights. Laboratories for use with Internet of Things devices are ready for operation. We are confident that we will achieve our ambitious goals. ”
The maiden phase of this program (Samsung IoT Academy) will commence in September 2017 at the Institute of Information Technologies, Moscow University of Technology. The first student competition will be held in the spring of 2018 and the result will be released in the summer of 2018. This program is expected to extend to other universities in the 2018-2019 academic session.
