American subscription video on demand service, Hulu, is a great platform to keep up on your favorite shows, and still have access to an expansive library of on-demand content. And starting today, Hulu is available with Live TV on even more devices across platforms, including LG and Samsung. Platforms that already had Hulu support, like Roku, are getting an updated user interface (UI), making it even easier for you to find and watch your stored content.
Hulu with Live TV
Hulu has rolled-out an update to its app on Roku, bringing in Live TV support and improvised UI. The company has also added more device support, with the Roku 2 4210X being the latest addition. As for webOS powered LG smart TVs, the updated Hulu app is now available on all 2017 and 2018 model, as well as select 2016 models. You can find the full list of supported LG TVs here. If your device isn’t supported, you can still access the older app, which provides the on-demand content. However, you’ll miss out on the Live TV part of the service.
“As interest in streaming live events continues to rise, we are offering LG smart TV owners a seamless solution that enables them to experience today’s pivotal cultural moments as they are happening from the comfort of their own home,” said Matthew Durgin, Director, smart TV content partnerships, LG Electronics USA.
Hulu is also rolling out support on Samsung Tizen Smart TVs. Initially, it’s available only on the 2018 models of Samsung Smart TVs. However, the company does promises to roll out support for more devices soon.
If you have a Hulu supported LG, Samsung or Roku device, you’ll be able to subscribe to Hulu with Live TV and gain access to live and on-demand programming from over 50 top channels. Hulu’s new UI and Live TV service are also available on Apple TV (4th gen.), Amazon Fire TV devices, Xbox One, iOS and Android mobile devices, Nintendo Switch and Chromecast.
