Huawei sub-brand Honor is scheduled to launch its first smartwatch, Honor Watch, alongside the Magic 2 smartphone tomorrow. However, just a day ahead of the launch, Huawei has accidentally leaked some high-resolution images of the upcoming wearable. The company has added the ability to pair an Honor Watch with its official Huawei Health app for smartphones. And while doing so, Huawei also included some images of the upcoming smartwatch. Huawei has subsequently removed the images from the health app, but not before T3 could grab a screenshot of them.

The leaked images of the Honor Watch reveal it to be closely following the footsteps of the Huawei Watch GT. A circular, stainless steel frame with two side-mounted buttons on the right gives it a look similar to that of the Huawei Watch GT. Honor has, however, included a tachymeter scale on the rim of its watch.
We’ll probably have to wait till tomorrow to see what’s under the hood of the Honor Watch. But one thing we think we know is that the watch will come with the support for contactless payment with Google Pay via NFC. The Honor Watch is also expected to come with inbuilt GPS, heart-rate monitor and big-big battery life, just as the latest Huawei watch. The watch straps should be interchangeable and we’re also expecting the watch to offer customizable watch faces.
The Huawei Watch GT runs on Huawei’s not-yet-matured software, dubbed Lite OS, instead of Wear OS. We were expecting Honor to break the shackles and launch its watch with Wear OS. But the inclusion of the Honor Watch inside the Huawei Health software is enough evidence that it’ll be powered by the same software.
Huawei’s watch packs a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a 454 x 454 resolution, and offers water resistance up to 50m (164ft), sleep tracking, and workout tutorials at just £199 ($230). It’ll now be interesting to see how many of those features make the cut into Honor Watch. Come tomorrow, we’ll know.
