Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa gets an opening date

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa has confirmed its opening date, just a few short weeks away.

The venue has announced that it will open its doors in the Canadian capital at 1pm on July 3.

“Ottawa is a milestone moment for us,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International in a public statement. “It’s our first fully integrated resort in Canada and a key step in our global growth strategy. This property will not only attract international visitors but also support the local economy and enhance the region’s entertainment offerings.”

The launch date will see a major opening party to attract both residents and tourists in Ottawa, according to Christine Crump, President of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa.

“Hard Rock knows how to throw a grand opening party!” said Christine. “July 3 will mark the beginning of festivities, infused with legendary Hard Rock energy and an Oh! Canada! feel, this is more than a launch — it’s the start of something incredible for our city; our capital!”

What will Hard Rock Hotel & Casino offer Ottawa?

As well as a full-service hotel, there’s a clear emphasis on casino gaming in the new venue, with a gaming floor spanning more than 150,000 square feet. That provides enough space for 1,500 slot machines, up to 40 table games, and a high-limit gaming area.

There are other amenities on offer too, with several restaurants, an entertainment venue, and other features typical of Hard Rock hotels. The brand already owns 37 Hard Rock hotels and four casinos around the world. In Ottawa, there are 150 guest rooms, including 22 luxury suites and 10 restaurants and bars.

This idea of blending gaming, entertainment, and hotels is nothing new, with similar resorts in progress around the world in places like Thailand and in the US. Major brands like Hard Rock can use such spaces as a way to launch into the casino space while remaining aligned with their existing portfolio.
