Fortnite – the Battle Royale’s rarest item that some say was only ever in the game for 30 minutes looks like it’s about to make a comeback

We have spoken a bit about the history of Fortnite already this week. With the news that the upcoming Chapter Six Season 2 is set to be the shortest season since 2019 – stretching way back to the game’s first Chapter, now it seems – according to the usual suspects in the leaker circles at least, that one of its rarest items is set to make a return.

Legend has it that the Zapotron, which some OG players are convinced was only available for less than a day, is making a return, and HYPEX has given us its base stats to “prove” it.

Now we cannot remember the last time HYPEX posted something to their X account and was wrong, so as usual we are taking this as something that will happen, but leakers gonna leak so remember they might not always be right.

Now it seems the Zapotron will be returning to the OG version of the game rather than main, so if you want it, that’s where you will find it. HYPEX said, “THE ZAPOTRON CONFIRMED RETURNING TO OG SOON.

• Damage: 50-150 Body, 125-375 Head & 1,000 Builds
• 2 seconds Charging Time for more Damage
• Uses “Energy Cells” for Ammo”

The Zapotron is so rare that virtually nothing exists about it online but that is certainly going to change in the next few days when it arrives. There is no confirmed time just yet but Season 1 of OG Mode ends at the end of the month so it will surely appear soon.

What is Fortnite’s OG mode?

Fortnite OG is a permanent mode in Fortnite that recreates the game’s original map and gameplay from 2017. It includes the original seasons of Chapter 1, with shorter seasons than the current Battle Royale mode.

OG Mode Features:

  • Classic map: The original map from 2017, with iconic locations like Frosty Flights
  • Old-school vehicles: Vehicles like the X-4 Stormwing
  • Throwback loot pool: Weapons and loot from the game’s early days
