Fortnite is about to get Messi – leakers convinced superstar is coming soon

Fortnite and Epic games may be busy constantly changing things up with tweaks to Lego Fortnite as reported earlier, or yesterday’s breaking news of the new Ballistic Mode coming to the main game but the big-name celebrity tie-ins keep on rolling in.

Most game leaks tend to turn out to be nonsense but you can set your watch by the accuracy of certain Fortnite leakers such as HypeX, who is one of many popular bean-spillers when it comes to Fortnite.

So when HypeX posted on their X account that football superstar Lionel Messi – currently of Inter Miami FC is coming soon to Fortnite, well then, we believed that this is about to happen imminently.

The post simply read, “MESSI x FORTNITE IS COMING SOON ” with a fire emoji and an image of the Argentine superstar.

The news immediately set off a footballing war of words between Messi and Ronaldo fans with plenty of demands for CR7 to get included too.

This, of course, is not Messi’s first appearance in a video game outside of his regular lane. Naturally enough the star has been featured in a number of FIFA and EAFC titles over the years, but his appearance alongside Neymar in Call of Duty Modern Warfare III as an Operator split opinion amongst the game’s hardcore fans and those who just want to charge around dressed up as a personality.

Ronaldo meanwhile may not have made it into CoD but has been spending some of his time endorsing and backing the free-to-play EAFC challenger UFL which has just come on on console in Early Access and will make an appearance on the PC at some point in 2025.

In terms of Messi coming to Fortnite, there is no clue right now as to when this will happen, but with HYPEX saying soon, it could be a surprise drop any day now.
