The Tizen Steering Group (TSG) have released the first platform milestone of Tizen 3.0 Common, which can run on various devices including one of the Tizen Developer Conference give aways, the Intel NUC. Tizen 3.0 Common supports both Intel Architecture (IA) and also ARM architectures. This milestone marks the feature completion for Tizen 3.0 Common.
Tizen 3.0 Common, as the name suggests is a common development, build and test platform for any upcoming features and applications that maybe required by vertical profiles that are built on top of it. Features integrated in this milestone include:
- 64-bit support for both Intel and ARM architectures
- Crosswalk-based web runtime
- Multiuser support
- Systemd
- Security: three-domain rule system for SMACK and Cynara as authorization framework
- Wayland display server
