Disney Plus Coming to Samsung TVs Very Soon!

We’ve had news about Netflix not being able to support older Samsung TVs. Now we have news that Disney Plus is going to debut on Samsung TVs in a handful of markets next week.

Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, said that Disney Plus has already been tested on Samsung TVs in the Netherlands and was “well-received by users”

This was actually true – the app did pop up on TVs for a few days. Unfortunately, it seemed like the app needed quite a bit of work. The app didn’t support 4K video, HDR, and Dolby Digital 5.1. This makes people expect some if not all of these features at the time of launch – which won’t be too far away.

The Launch Date

Speaking of the launch date, Disney+ is first going to launch in the USA, Canada and the Netherlands on November 12th. We don’t know whether the app will be able to support older TV models – like Netflix. The app will then come to Australia and New Zealand on the 19th November. Then it’ll finally come to the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain on March 21, 2020.

In Canada and the USA, Disney Plus will cost CAD 8.99 and $6.99 respectively. In the Netherlands, the video-on-demand streaming service will cost EUR 6.99 a month.
