Conan Exiles announces third season of major content updates – Age of Heroes will also feature fully-voiced companions for the first time

Conan Exiles is a great game that has far superseded the initial eye-rolling when it first came out and the character creator let you change the size of your male or female genitalia. Yes, that was and is a thing, but the game has since grown to be a hugely popular sandbox survival game that you can sink hundreds of hours into, despite its advancing years. Exiles is one of those games that if you have been tempted, but never yet tried out, you definitely should take a look.

Lots of work has been going into the game over the past couple of years with new seasonal content and new maps and now we are getting wind of not only the new season three but some pretty major changes to the game and the addition of fully-voiced companions for the first time.

The first chapter in the new season is slated for an October release (which is much closer than you think it is!) and will introduce the Companions that can be recruited and taken on adventures, while the second will totally overhaul your thralls and give them realistic behaviors and interactions, breathing new life into your bases and encampments.

The first Chapter in Age of Heroes will include the two companions– Freya, the Aesir warrior, and Liu Fei, the Khitan sorcerer. Each of these fully voiced characters has their own story and each Companion’s abilities will be shaped by what happens, as well as the player’s choices. More companions are planned for later Chapters.

Living Settlements will arrive in Chapter 2, transforming thralls into living breathing inhabitants of the player’s base, going about their lives, emoting, and even manning crafting stations. Not only will they behave like real people, with needs such as food and sleep, but they will also defend their homes when threatened.

Funcom also promises more content between chapters in an additional minor update bringing events and bug fixes.

Also in big news that should not be underestimated, the Conan Exiles Battle Pass has been retired although the item Shop will remain.

Age of Heroes will arrive at some point during October on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox X|S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass.
