Samsung’s first Tizen wearable device seems to be quite well received. A few teething problems, but no big show stoppers. I’ve had people ask for a comparison between the Samsung Gear 1 and the new Gear 2, but without access to a Gear 1 at the moment I’m not able to do a full video review.
One of the most notable one for us is the switch from Android to Tizen, which we fully intend to dive straight into. Physically the Gear 2 is slimmer and lighter, and now have replaceable watch straps and a built-in heart rate monitor. In the Gear 1 the camera, microphone and speakers were actually built into the strap, and hence why you couldn’t change them.
