We have already reported on the possibilities of there being a Samsung Gear Smart Watch with a built in 3G modem, and also that its likely going to be called the Samsung Gear Solo, a device that you can make and receive calls and texts as well as access the Internet.
I’ve been sceptical if this device would see the light of day, as the device would need a reasonably big battery, far greater than the comparatively miniature one found in the Gear 2 / Neo ones (300mah). Accessing a mobile network is power draining.
Samsung has recently filed a trademark for the “Gear Solo” name, and also for “Samsung Gear Now” name in the US. Do you see a future for a 3G Smart watch? At least one of my friend can’t wait for this. 🙂
