Enterprise social networking company Yammer today announced a new API sandbox for developers working with its API. The sandbox provides developers with a walk through of the oAuth process of getting a testing a token for making HTTP calls.
Yammer has also launched community site for developers based on its own social networking software. Developers need only an e-mail address to join.
Yammer has been growing rapidly, boasting triple digit growth in 2010. That makes it an attractive platform for developers. You can use the API to build new integrations, third-party applications on top of the Yammer platform or custom clients.
Yammer has been expanding its platform beyond its signature microblogging in recent months. It now offers document collaboration features via Crocodoc, and new features such as polling, idea management and Q&A.
Yammer published new API documentation last month.
