Has it really been 20 years Blizzard? Two decades of World of Warcraft is upon us and Blizzard is letting us celebrate with a massive anniversary event as Azeroth unleashes eternal war in Sanctuary as two of its titan franchises join forces in a collaboration to shake the ages. Probably.
Running from November 13, 3:00 a.m.—December 11, 2:59 a.m. local server time the two iconic universes will unite for this limited time bringing, you guessed it, loads of stuff to the item shops as well as being “where legends are born, and destinies are forged.”
All Eternal War log-in rewards
All you need to do to claim these log-in rewards is enter Diablo IV’s Sanctuary while the event is live and within the first few tears of the event you will obtain the following:
- Mourneskull (Two-Star) Legendary Gem
- 1 New World of Warcraft Weapon Skin
- 10 Legendary Crests
- Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic
- Icecrown Pathway Portal
There is a small caveat in that if you have earned the last two items in the previous Shadow of the Frozen Throne event you don’t get them again. Obviously it was too much trouble to design anything new.
What is the Eternal War?
“The Lich King’s legions are closing in, spreading their icy influence beyond Azeroth into the perilous world of Sanctuary. Warriors from every corner must heed the call to arms, for only the bravest can stand against this ancient and malevolent force. Who dares to challenge such immense power?”
During the event, you will be able to earn Weapon Skins from Azeroth for your Diablo IV weapons, which is quite cool. There is also progress to be made towards claiming either a Horde or Alliance banner for your character.
During the weeks of the event, the Lich King himself will raid Sanctuary and you’ll need to transport yourself to the Frozen Throne by earning Fallen Citadel Gates from Dungeon Content, log-in rewards, and a rare drop from monster kills during the event.in order to face him.
There’s an absolute ton more stuff going on that you can read about here, but this certainly looks like an event worthy of the occasion and we expect many players to jump back in, especially as Diablo IV has also regained a lot of interest with the release of its first expansion pack.
