All the talk this year has been about Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 and rightly so, it’s a great game. Before that though saw the release of Darktide, a fantastic horde shooter that embodied everything from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Great acting, dark and grim locations, and superb weaponry.
A lot of people overlooked it and, to be fair, it had issues at launch. A lack of content, and a severe misstep that prioritized an item store ahead of much-needed features were all held against Darktide, but Fatshark has doubled down, patched and improved, added and completed and now Darktide is a dream to play, and you really should.
December 3rd will finally see the game arrive on the PS5 and open it up to a new audience. It also brings another massive content addition, dubbed Grim Protocols and you can see the trailer for this below. This new content will be available on all versions.
There is also going to be a two-year anniversary event that will reward players with a unique cosmetic.
Even if you don’t have a pack of mates to play with, squadding up with complete randoms still consistently turns out action-packed battles time and time again. I’ve loved this kind of game since Left 4 Dead, and Darktide is one I have consistently gone back to since taking part in the beta.
Check out Warhammer 40K: Darktide Grim Protocols from 3rd December on PC, Xbox, and now, PS5.
