Even more Arcane-related characters are about to drop in the League of Legends Teamfight Tactics game mode, with fan favorites Mel, Warwick, and Viktor scheduled to arrive in TFT Set 13 in the upcoming patch.
Off the back of Arcane season 2’s immense success, Riot Games has been releasing a slew of Arcane-themed updates in League of Legends. From the ARAM Bridge of Progress map to the Exalted Arcane Jinx skin and Viktor’s controversial visual update, Riot has made sure the game is profiting off the Netflix series’ popularity. The League of Legends Teamfight Tactics (TFT) game mode has also been Arcane-ified and a recent trailer drop has confirmed even more Arcane character units are set to join soon.
Already in the TFT roster, players can add Powder, Violet, Silco, Sevika, Renni, Vander, Maddie, Steb, Smeech, Loris, and Scar to their boards, with these Arcane champions being exclusive to TFT currently. As confirmed by Riot, players can expect Viktor, Mel, and Warwick to arrive in League of Legends TFT shortly as well. All three will be 6-cost units, meaning they’re going to bring some powerful buffs and effects to your board if you manage to build a comp around them.
Warwick
Warwick has the Experiment and the Blood Hunter traits. The latter is a unique trait that allows Warwick to execute champions below a percentage of max health (don’t even think about introducing this kind of thing to the normal game, Riot!). His ability, Blood Hunt, gives him movespeed, omnivamp, attack speed, and attack damage and he will become permanently “Bloodfrenzied” if he kills five enemy champions in a fight.
Mel
Mel will have the unique trait Banished Mage, which states that if Mel has cast at least 12 times during this game then when a player would be eliminated for the first time they instead remain alive. After this, Mel also gains a permanent damage boost. Her ability Conduit of Magic lets Mel dash to a nearby space shield herself and two allies and do damage to three nearby enemies. 50% of the damage that’s blocked by the shields is then stored as energy and after every third cast, she does massive magic damage split across the five nearest enemies.
Viktor
And what about Arcane-Jesus himself? Viktor will have the unique trait Machine Herald which gives him a fixed attack speed and converts all bonus attack damage, attack speed and mana into ability power. Rather than Mana, Viktor gains chaos energy and at 8 chaos energy, he unleashes his ability, Chaos Storm. It summons a huge storm that covers the battlefield and knocks up all enemies before slamming them back into the ground, dealing huge magic damage and bonus damage based on their max health.
Warwick, Mel and Viktor will be hitting live servers in Patch 14.24, which is scheduled to release on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. In the meantime, players can have a go with these new champs in the League of Legends PBE (Public Beta Environment).
