It’s a little over a year since Stellar Blade took the PlayStation by storm, and not just for the physique of the main character…well mainly because of the physique of the main character, but let’s pretend it wasn’t.
Featuring “blistering combat and a twisting storyline as you unravel the mysteries of Earth’s downfall,” Stellar Blade is the latest big PS5 title to make it to the PC, and it seems, as long as you are prepared to wait 12 months or so, you actually don’t need a PlayStation these days.
Most of the other console games that have made it across from Sony’s box have all had PC improvements such as ray-tracing and better UIs, but at this stage there is no indication of enhancements. We will probably get news on those closer to the time, along with PC specifications.
When does Stellar Blade release on PC?
We have a firm(ish) release window of June this year, the exact date is yet to be unveiled but at this stage Shift Up and Sony are still leaving themselves a little bit of leeway for the launch.
Stellar Blade trailer
A one-minute long, largely cinematic trailer is all we have to go on at the moment and it concludes with the words “In development” and coming June 2025. We aren’t sure how much development is needed but let’s roll with it for now.
Stellar Blade Mature Content
The Steam page describes Eve’s adventures thus (just in case you are unaware of what you are letting yourself in for!):
“Stellar Blade is an action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players engage in fast-paced melee-style combat with weapons such as blades, machine guns, and laser blasters. Attacks result in black splatter effects, and can also impale, dismember, or decapitate the enemies. There are female characters in revealing costumes. There are some references to suicide and torture. There are also references to alcohol and tobacco but no depictions of characters getting drunk or smoking. Low-mid level language is used in the dialogue.”
Stellar Blade DLC
Stellar Blade seems to be coming with some DLC content (that has zero mention on the Steam page, but does get a nod in the trailer) based around Shift Up’s previous game, Goddess of Victory: Nikke. We will have to wait for more info on what that entails at the moment, but the wait should not be too long.
Can you mod Stellar Blade?
This will be a can of worms for sure. The game runs in Unreal Engine 4 so we are expecting it to have an active mod-scene. Whether you will want your significant other seeing some of those inevitable mods is another matter. Poor EV.
