Samsung has recently announced it’s SmartThings Find service. Usually, it takes a good while for announced features and services to trickle down to end devices and consumers, but this time things are a bit different. The SmartThings Find Service is already rolling out to select Galaxy Active Watch 2 models.
The software version is R820XXU1DUA3 / R820GFC1DUA3 – spotted first in Canada. Also, bundled in the firmware update, is another recently announced feature – group-walking challenge. It can be just the thing for those looking for another reason to get back into fitness, it might be just the nudge you need. You can access this feature directly from inside the Samsung health app.
When can you expect to see SmartThings Find on your Galaxy wearables?
SmartThings Find has been rumoured for the last 6 months with it initially being mentioned during the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra announcement. Its capabilities aligned themselves nicely with the smartphone’s ultra-wideband (UWB) feature.
As part of the latest Galaxy Watch Active 2 update we have the usual performance improvements and bug fixes according to the change log. We would expect Samsung’s stable of other wearables, including the flagship Galaxy Watch 3 to receive this update pretty soon.
