This year is the first year the amazing Satisfactory has been in full version 1.0 and its seasonal festive event FICSMAS is back and better than ever. If you have played Satisfactory in early access, you will be more than familiar with this, and, while there aren’t too many new things added from EA days, they have been spruced up and made into a stronger feeling event.
If you are not careful though, you will have noticed the giant presents falling from the sky since the start of December and not had a clue what to do next. Fortunately, those gifts from above can be turned into festive decorations to make your little home on the planet MASSAGE-2(A-B)b seem just a little bit more welcoming this Christmas time.
Let’s investigate further.
Ficsmas 2024 event
Once you start noticing the presents dropping from the sky start collecting them. Depending on the size of the box you will receive 10, 15, or 20 Ficsmas Gifts. Your next stop, once you have collected 100 GIfts or more (not actual boxes, just the combined total of the resource) is to head over to the MAM where you will see a new research tree for the Ficsmas Holiday Event.
Unlock the first section with 100 gifts and this will give you access to the Giant Ficsmas Tree and Tree Branches.
Tree branches for your tree can be crafted in a Constructor and you will need 100 – crafted at a 1:1 ratio of Gifts, along with some concrete and reinforced iron plates to build the tree. Once you have all the bits, construct the tree where you want it. We will be decorating it over the coming days.
Advent Calendar
If you are eagle of eye you may notice that an Advent Calendar has appeared in the Hub. We didn’t. We happened to be at a part of the game where we are having to craft 1,000 Nuclear Pasta for the Space Elevator’s last stage so regular visits to the Hub were unnecessary so we missed it for the first couple of days, but don’t worry you can still open the windows you missed. Anyway, find the calendar and click on it. You can open windows every day (real days and will be given gifts, including the one you need next – the Red Ornament. From here you can start to continue research at the MAM and begin to create decorations for your tree, base, and factories.
Don’t forget to check the Advent Calendar every day to see what you get as some days contain the parts you need to progress. One thing to note that is not clear, different parts for the event need to be made in different crafting machines. None can be hand-crafted. For example, red ornaments have to be made in the Smelter. So if you are unsure, check all your machine recipes and see what has appeared lately.
The calendar is fiendishly designed too with the numbers well hidden in the artwork, but if you simply can’t find one, you can get a hint at the bottom.
You may also find you need to travel further and further afield to get enough gifts although they do drop regularly all around you. Merry Ficsmas to you Pioneer.
