The Samsung Z2 was officially launched in Kenya yesterday at a relatively small event hosted at Samsung Kenya’s head office in Nairobi. Consumers will be able to purchase the Z2 on safaricom, which do not offer what we would consider standard pay monthly plans, but instead do “pay as you go” and standard rates for everything else that can be purchased as a bundle for your SMS / Calls / Data.
Bloggers attending the event were reminded by the local Samsung office that the Tizen platform has some of the most popular apps already available on it, and they have also intensified their efforts to get Kenyan developers to develop apps for this new platform. This is not an Android device and will therefore offer consumers exceptional battery life as it is a true Linux based OS and does not have to work through a virtual dalvik cache like Android.
Priced at Kshs 6,000 will make it will be amongst the cheapest LTE devices available in this market. You can grab the Samsung Z2 at all Safaricom retails shops countrywide and it is available in either gold or black colour.
