Samsung has just launched its Tizen-powered Samsung Z4 for the market but there are no signs the Z4 is a direct replacement for the Samsung Z2, which was released last year. The Z2 has so far been launched in several countries in two continents, Africa (South Africa and Kenya) and Asia (India, Nepal, Indonesia). There are indications that it would be heading for North America, particularly the U.S. with the recent spotting of the model on the US FCC website.
The Samsung Z2 could also be heading to South America as the User Manual of a Samsung SM-Z200M has appeared on Samsung’s website in Bolivia. Samsung SM-Z200M first popped onto our radar when it appeared for WiFi certification. It is believed to be similar to the standard SM-Z200F version which is already live in some regions.
This latest development means Samsung could launch the smartphone anytime soon in South America. Apart from Bolivia, this version of the Samsung Z2 is expected to debut in Peru, but we would love to see it appear in Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Ecuador. We expect further details to emerge soon from the region.
As a reminder, the device sports a 4-inch WVGA screen and is Powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830 processor backed by 1GB of RAM. The Z2 also comes with an 8GB internal memory which is expandable via microSD (up to 128GB). The device has dual-SIM support, a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, and a 1500mAh long-lasting battery. The Z2 will be available in Gold, Black and Wine Red colours.
