Samsung are hoping for great things from their next Tizen smartphone, the Samsung Z2, which has been rumoured to launch on 11 Auguest 2016. The date now seems a little more plausible as two firmwares have been found online for India and Nepal (Z200FDDU0APG8), with the full country list being: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya. The Operating System (OS) will be Tizen 2.4.0.4 and not Tizen 3.0 as other websites have been incorrectly claiming.
The Z2 will potentially be announced at the same launch event in India for the Note 7, which hasn’t got a confirmed date at the moment, but Samsung have been known to give only a couple of days notice before the actual event. We expect the Z2 to be a lower end specification device but it is the first Tizen smartphone to have 4G wireless capabilities and therefore will appeal to a far wider audience. The price point is Rs 4,499 at this moment and that does seem very competitive against other budget handsets.
Stock wallpapers from the Z2 are also available for download below and all you need to do is right click and save them to your PC or Smartphone.
