Samsung Electronics’ new CEO has called for the company to redouble its focus on software, which many are taking as a hard knudge towards using its own software efforts in its handsets ie Tizen.
Kwon said the company needs to have particular focus on serving new customer experiences by strengthening its software capabilities, user experience, and design, according to the Wall Street Journal.
With Android Samsung does not have complete control over the User Interface / User experience of the Operating System (OS). With Tizen they can literally do what they want and also have full control over the OS update process which sadly and often embarrassingly they do not have with Android as can be seen by the fiasco of the ICS Update for Samsung Galaxy SII.
With Samsung having full control over the hardware and the OS we could potentially see Tizen making a reasonable first impression when it comes out later this year.
