Samsung is all set to officially announce the much touted Gear S3 smartwatch this August, according to a invitation outed by the tech giant today. The invite contained scanty details but what stood out is the caption “Talk about 3” and what looks like a watch dial hovering above the caption, an indication that the talking point of the scheduled event would likely be the Gear S3
The Samsung Gear S3 is expected to come in three variants – the Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Explorer each tailored to meet various needs with lots of stunning features geared towards persons with active lifestyles. All three versions will provide a GPS function, a speedometer, barometer, altimeter and lots more.
The Gear S3 is the successor to the Gear S2 which was released during the IFA Berlin last year and like its predecessor, the Gear S3 comes powered by Samsung’s Tizen operating system. The Gear S2 also came in three variants – Gear S2, Gear S2 3G and Gear S2 Classic.
The announcement is scheduled to be made precisely on August 31st in an event taking place at the Tempodrom, Berlin, Germany by 18:00 CET. The event will be live streamed on Samsung’s official website. We’ll keep you posted as the event unfolds.
