The SAMSUNG Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event has just been announce, and it is for August 13th 2015 (Thurs) at 11:00 EDT, at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, New York, USA. There have been rumours previously about a State side unveil of the Samsung Note 5, the latest iteration of the korean companies phablet.
We also expect Samsung to unveil the Next Tizen based Gear Smartwatch at the same event, codenamed Orbis, but the real name will be also be announced. This will be the first time Samsung has released a round faced Smartwatch with a new User Interface.
Specifications
Most of the specifications have leaked including the following: Exynos 3472 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and the Mali-400 MP4 GPU clocked at 450 MHz, 768 MB of RAM, 4GB of on-board storage, and a 250 mAh battery. For connectivity we are looking at Bluetooth 4.1 (Hmmm) as well as a variant with Wi-Fi / Direct (802.11 b/g/n). Built in sensors will have GPS, accelerometer, gyro, barometer and a heart rate sensor that we are used to. As with previous Gear smart watches we will have a Super AMOLED display, but this one will have a resolution of 360×360 pixels.
