Path of Exile 2 is finally making its way onto your screens, even if it is in early access form.
Since the original PoE is a free to play experience, many are wondering if Path of Exile 2 shares the same fate, allowing you to jump in and slay without having to pay a penny.
Here, we’ll discuss if PoE 2 is a free to play game so you know if you can get it downloaded and keep your cash for those microtransactions instead.
Is Path of Exile 2 a free to play experience?
The short answer to the question of if Path of Exile 2 is free to play is yes but only when the full release launches.
By this we mean that if you want to go head first into early access and explore parts of the game ahead of the ‘official’ release date, you will have to pay a fee.
There are multiple editions that you can pick up that guarantee you a Path of Exile 2 Early Access Key but if you’re wallet conscious, you can just choose to pick up the base Early Access Supporters Pack for $30.
While you might think that this is pretty pricey for an early access experience, you will be able to play through three campaign acts as well as grinding end game content that could keep you going for hundreds of hours.
There are six PoE 2 classes to experiment with too so it’s really not a barebones early access contrary to that of what you’re likely used to this day in age.
As previously mentioned though, if you are happy to wait at least six months for the 1.0 release, you will be able to play without coughing up any cash.
So, if you’re patient enough and just want the finished product, Path of Exile 2 can be completely free!
