What’s an ideal smartwatch? Well, everyone has their own taste. However, I’m pretty sure that many of us would want a smartwatch that doesn’t need to be charged everyday. In fact, we want our watches to run multiple days on a single charge. So, what if I say there’s a smartwatch that doesn’t need to be charged! Yeah, you read that right. The Nowa Superbe is a hybrid smartwatch that needs no charging.
Nowa Superbe
Nowa Superbe is a skinny unisex hybrid watch with a 36mm square face. The 10mm thick watch comes in a stainless steel case, with a sapphire-coated mineral glass covering the watch face. It features interchangeable 18mm standard straps, offering an option to switch away from the default Italian leather or Milanese mesh. As for the timekeeping aspect, the watch is running a Swiss Partz Quartz movement. Nowa Superbe weighs 44g with leather straps, and 69g with the mesh.
For smart features, you get activity tracking (steps, distance, and calories burned), sleep monitoring, automatic time zone adjustment, and smart controls that allow you to take control of your smartphone camera. There’s a light indicator for call notifications. You can also reject calls with a push of the crown, whereas a double push helps you to find your phone in case you misplace it.
The watch has enough internal storage space to save your health and activity data for one week. It connects to Apple Health or Google Fit via iPhones running iOS 8 or newer, or smartphones running Android 8 or newer. The watch is 30ATM water resistant.
It is, however, its battery life that sets Nowa Superbe apart from the rest. The watch packs a standard CR2025 watch battery that goes on and on for a whole two years on ‘watch mode’. In ‘smart mode’, the watch runs for 8 moths, which still is a huge battery life. However, once the battery runs out of juice, you’ll need to take your watch to a qualified pro to switch out the battery – unless you have the tools and know-how to do it yourself.
