Meta AI’s gradual rollout will now reach an additional 21 places around the world, with support to be added for more languages.
It was in July 2024 when the technology giant first announced it would be expanding its in-app assistant into new countries. At the time, this reached Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and more, but continued to miss out on other key areas.
This week the chatbot will have a further push into new places, with the company writing in an updated news release that they have a plan to open up “access to Meta AI in more countries and languages throughout the rest of the year.”
On Wednesday (October 9) the assistant was made accessible in the United Kingdom, Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, and the Philippines. Support for the Tagalog language was introduced too.
Meta AI is an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot that can perform different tasks, answer questions, and provide recommendations. It sits within the company’s apps, so it’s able to be used in Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. All users have to do is tap the icon or type @/Meta AI in a group chat to use it.

In the coming weeks, more places will be able to utilize the tool including Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen. There will also be support for Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese.
The company writes this expansion will “help people get answers to their questions, brainstorm content and bring their ideas to life in places where they can easily share the results with their local network and our broader global community.”
After this rollout, Meta AI will be available in a total of 43 countries and a dozen languages.
According to the technology company and social media platform powerhouse, “Meta AI is already on track to become the most used AI assistant in the world by the end of the year with almost 500 million active users monthly.”
