The world of gaming never ceases to amaze us with the ability to come up with new and bizarre (in a cool way) ways to collaborate with other industries. Having said that, even by those standards, this one is unusual.
Meet Game Beauty – a startup by entrepreneur Jamie Battista who has teamed up with Capcom to create a whole range of make-up based around Street Fighter 6.
In its own words, “Game Beauty is a family-owned business that aims to bridge the two worlds of makeup and video games by offering high-quality beauty products inspired by your favorite video game concepts, characters, sceneries, and all relatable elements found in the world of gaming. Game Beauty aims to deliver fun shades that tell stories of a game while encouraging you to explore and discover your color combo.”
Since Game Beauty’s inception in 2020, Founder and CEO Jamie Battista has sought to partner with video game companies that might be interested in licensing their IPs to makeup brands. After a successful collaboration with ATLUS on Persona 5 Royal Limited Edition Makeup Collection, Jamie started to reach out to more developers and publishers of the games she’s enjoyed playing over the past few decades.
“I vividly recall those afternoons after school, rushing to the arcade to master my Chun-Li combo for Lightning Kick, or the ‘Hyakuretsukyaku’ as we knew it. To think I’m now creating a Street Fighter makeup collection… it feels surreal, a dream come true” says Game Beauty Founder & CEO, Jamie Battista.
The Game Beauty Street Fighter 6 Limited Edition Makeup Collection will include one makeup palette, six matte lipsticks, four cream blushes, two highlighter balms, and six chameleon shadows,
As collabs go Game Beauty seems pretty out there but Jamie is tying in with some huge companies who share the vision of creating game-related makeup. In a beauty industry that remains hugely difficult to stand out in, maybe Game Beauty has a niche that the big players can’t go for.
The Game Beauty Street Fighter 6 Limited Edition Makeup Collection is available for pre-order on Game Beauty’s website right now.
