LG U+ is the latest firm to become a member of the Tizen Association. The Tizen Association has changed the membership of 12 firms from being members of the Tizen Association to belonging to the Board of Directors. These 12 companies are Fujitsu , Huawei , Intel , KT Mobile , LG U+ , NTT DoCoMo , Orange , Panasonic , Samsung , SK telecom , Sprint and Vodafone. This change will strengthen the development of project Tizen which should launch some time soon.
In March it was revealed that NEC and Fujitsu will collaborate with NTT DoCoMo telecom to release a Tizen smartphone around mid 2014 but since then NEC has ended the development and production of all smartphones , but still plans to peruse tablet production. So we could see a Tizen tablet from NEC in the near future.
LG U+ (Previously LG telecom) is the third telecom operator in Korea to join the Tizen Association , LG is the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world and LG have recently unveiled their new flagship phone the LG G2 , so could we see something similar in from LG based on Tizen? It certainly looks promising.
