Samsung’s Gear Fit2 Pro was only recently unveiled at IFA 2017 in Berlin and during its launch, it was announced that it is compatible with iOS devices. However, since sales began on September 15, no iPhone has been able to connect with a Gear Fit2 Pro because the app which links both devices is still sitting on Apple’s desk, waiting for approval.
Well, without the approval of this app, iPhones cannot be used with the Gear Fit2 Pro which is quite frustrating for some iPhone users who already have both devices. On Samsung’s support forum these users have aired their disappointment and Samsung in response said:
“We look forward to iOS support for Gear Fit2 Pro pending approval in the App Store.”
Despite the worries by iPhone users, the company has not released any statement on the app’s status. Presently, there is a Gear app which other Gear smartwatches uses with iOS. However, this app is only compatible with Gear S2, S3, and Fit2. It will not work for Gear Fit2 Pro.
The truth is that, for now, Gear Fit2 Pro is not compatible with iOS and nobody knows when the app will be approved thus except if you already own both devices (iPhone & Fit2 Pro) or you have a spare Android phone, it is best to wait for Apple’s approval before purchasing the Gear Fit2 Pro.
