If you own Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on both Steam and Xbox, you can seamlessly share the save file across platforms and keep playing from anywhere.
Bethesda’s newest adventure, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is now available for everyone to dive into after a three-day premium access period, and fans quickly noticed the unusual feature.
You can now use Xbox Cloud Saved Games when playing the Steam version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

This allows players to play for a while on their Xbox, and then switch to a Steam device (PC or Steam Deck) and pick up where they left off, assuming their accounts are linked.
PC and Xbox cross-platform saves already existed in some form with Xbox Play Anywhere, which allowed users to purchase a digital game on Xbox and then play it through the Microsoft Store. In addition, some account-based online multiplayer games such as Sea of Thieves featured a similar cross-play option. However, this is a new feature for a single-player largely offline game.
Will all Xbox games have cross-saves now?
Earlier this year, Microsoft laid out its vision for the future of Xbox and Microsoft gaming generally. As well as launching four previously Xbox-exclusive games onto other platforms, the company said that Xbox would continue to be “a platform that is dedicated to you with features like backward compatibility, cross-save, cross-play, and robust cloud features.”
People are now speculating that that commitment alongside this new feature for Indiana Jones cross-saves heralds a new era of conveniently swapping from sofa to desk and back.
It would be an extremely convenient feature if Microsoft were to make it standard for all new games going forward, particularly if you’re already the sort of person to buy a game on multiple platforms to suit whatever gaming situation you’re in at the time. If they made this standard, Microsoft would certainly be enticing more players to purchase multiple copies of a game – though of course, many people will only ever want to buy a game once, understandably.
While it’s unclear at this time whether or not this will be a standard (or even more frequent feature) in the future, it’s certainly good news for folks diving into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and leaves us feeling pretty hopeful for future games.
