The Gear S2 is a serious bit of fashion, tech and a fitness wearable tracker all rolled into one. Many tech pundits and leading websites have testified at the how good the rotatable bezel is on this Tizen smartwatch.
Now it is time for us to have a successor to the S2 and in this case it is the Samsung Gear S3, which has been codenamed Solis. We have assumed that the unveiling of the S3 will take place at IFA 2016 as historically this is the usual place for Samsung to hold this event. Now Samsung have sent out invites for their IFA Press Event set to take place on September 1 which is a day before IFA.
The invite doesn’t explicitly mention a smartwatch but looking at the invite the watch hands are a clear giveaway. According to our sources the S3 will keep the round watch face and rotating bezel of it s2 predecessor but the watch face and body will be bigger due to user feedback. Samsung will apparently be launching three different variants being a Gear S3 Classic, a Gear S3 Frontier, and a Gear S3 Classic. On the specifications side Samsung are catering more for fitness enthusiasts by including an altimeter, a barometer, a speedometer, and an integrated GPS.
