Yesterday, Samsung officially announced this year’s Unpacked launch event – taking place on August 7, 2019. In Samsung’s usual style they released a teaser invite video. The main talking points of the video are the S Pen stylus and camera lens on the 16-second”. The words “Unpacked | August 7, 2019” and “Live on www.samsung.com” float up from the bottom.
This reference for the Pen and camera are a direct reference to the upcoming Galaxy Note 10, there is no surprise about that. Samsung has also sent out an email accompanying the video. It states that the company “will unveil new devices designed to take the Galaxy ecosystem’s connectivity to the next level.”
We could be looking at a more powerful Samsung Dex platform to release, taking advantage of the Samsung Note 10’s anticipated powerful processor. We could/should see the arrival of their new wearable Galaxy Watch at the event. Could this be the Galaxy Watch 2 release date?
Will we see the Galaxy Watch 2 or Galaxy Watch Active 2?
The original Samsung Galaxy Watch was announced at the Unpacked event in August last year. Most people would assume that the money is on the Galaxy Watch 2 release date – this is a year later when most companies will do a device refresh.
There has however been a Galaxy Watch Active 2 leak in pictures showing details of this model. As the original Galaxy Watch Active was released in February this year, I wouldn’t think Samsung would want to announce an update so quickly. End users that have purchased that device will not look favourably on their model becoming outdated so quickly.
