Nine malicious apps have been found to collect users Facebook login details.
These apps had around 5 million downloads by real-time users.
This information was recently found by the anti-virus software company Dr Web that specialises in analysing various sources and exterminating any viruses that may be present. The full information has been posted on their website, and it can be found here.
How these apps on Google Play do it
These apps seem harmless, and at times seem useful. Sometimes they even give an option to log into Facebook to get rid of ads. Instead of the Facebook API, they are presented with a copy that sends your login data to the company. Others collect the data via Google Chrome if you have your passwords saved.
Apps you want to avoid
Most of the apps found on Google Play have been removed, yet some still linger. Here is the list of apps you want to avoid:

App Lock Manager: has been downloaded 10,000 times and has been detected as Android.PWS.Facebook.13
Horoscope Daily: has been downloaded 100,000 times and has been detected as Android.PWS.Facebook.13
Horoscope Pi: has been downloaded 1,000 times and has been detected as Android.PWS.Facebook.13
Inwell Fitness: has been downloaded 100,000 times and has been detected as Android.PWS.Facebook.14
Lockit Master: has been downloaded 5,000 times and has been detected as Android.PWS.Facebook.13
PIP Photo: has been downloaded 5 million times and has been detected as both Android.PWS.Facebook.17 and Android.PWS.Facebook.18
Processing Photo: has been downloaded over 500,000 times and has been detected as Android.PWS.Facebook.13
Rubbish Cleaner: has been downloaded more than 100,000 times has been detected as Android.PWS.Facebook.13
Another app said to have malware was not available on Google Play, named EditorPhotoPip.
There are many apps filled with malware on the Google Play Store, so be careful when using your device.
